Casey Russell WA - SRC Sponsored Junior Rider |
Growing up with my parents not having really anything to do with horses made it hard for me, I was a complete horse freak and always wanted to be around horses. I really only got involved with horses around 9 or 10, I use to go to shows with my older cousin Brooke and her mum Raelene and I always helped them and I loved just watching and being around in the show atmosphere. I really wanted to start riding and getting in the ring so I decided to start it all by going to Tallarook park riding school at Amanda Gilberds in Champion Lakes and I learnt everything there, Amanda really helped me with everything from teaching me how to rise to winning my rider at my first HOTY. I am still very thankful for Amanda's help as I competed in my first ever Grand nationals in my first year of even riding and it was amazing. After that I loved it so much I had to convince mum and dad for my own pony and he was freshly broken and I had to do it all myself, it was a great experience and ever after that I've always loved working with green horses. |
The biggest success in show horse for me was winning my rider this year at the Grand nationals, I was amazed at my achievements and it has been a big road to get where I am. I have always been passionate about show horse but I would love to start dressage as one day I would love to go to the Olympics. |
